It reads your articles, your ideas board, what is queued and what your sources have published — and answers out of that. Every thing it mentions is a link to the thing itself, because an assistant that can invent an article you never wrote is worse than no assistant.
Why it will tell you it does not know
It answers from a briefing of your own workspace — your articles, your ideas, your queue, your sources, and how you write. Ask it about something that is not in there and it says so, rather than producing a confident paragraph about an article nobody wrote. That failure is the one worth designing against: a wrong answer that reads exactly like a right one.
What the square brackets are
When it refers to something of yours it cites a reference, and that reference is a link to the real record. Anything it makes up points nowhere, so it is removed before you see it rather than shown as a link to nothing.
