Structured data is a block of JSON that describes your page in a vocabulary search engines already understand. FAQ schema marks up question-and-answer pairs specifically, so a search engine does not have to infer from your heading tags which text is the question.
The markup itself is fiddly to hand-write and easy to break — one stray quote and the whole block is invalid, silently. This builds it correctly, escapes what needs escaping, and shows you the result before you paste it anywhere.

It might, but not reliably. Google narrowed FAQ rich results in 2023 so they now show mainly for well-known authoritative government and health sites. The markup is still worth adding — it helps search engines and AI answer engines parse the page correctly — but do not add an FAQ section purely to chase the visual result.
Inside a script tag with type="application/ld+json", in either the head or the body. Position does not affect validity. What does matter is that the questions and answers in the markup also appear as visible text on the page — marking up content a visitor cannot see is a guidelines violation.
A limited set is allowed by the specification — links, lists, basic formatting. This generator escapes your text as plain content by default, which is the safe option, because unescaped angle brackets are the most common way these blocks end up invalid.
As many as the page genuinely answers. There is no minimum that triggers anything and no maximum that helps. Padding a page with questions nobody asked to fill a schema block is the reason the feature got restricted in the first place.
